Who Uses NLP Techniques And In What Situations Can They Be Helpful?

Who uses NLP techniques? NLP is a communication model and the study of the structure of subjective experience. Answering the question ‘Where do you think human beings could communicate better?’ will give you an idea of who uses NLP and in what situations it can be helpful.

NLP has its root in studying therapists who are already successful at getting results with clients consistently. The originators of NLP modeled therapists like Virginia Satire and Fritz Pearls to extract those learnings so that they could explain them to others in a way that would shortcut the process and start getting therapists to be more consistently successful.

But very quickly, the originators of NLP realized that you could model many things about successful people. You can model many things like business success, health, fitness and wholeness, and sales.

They also realized that people tend to do things a certain way when they are successful.
They speak to themselves in a certain way; they have beliefs and values and have actual strategies to communicate to others to achieve those outcomes.

As you can imagine, there are a lot of different areas we could use NLP techniques. Let’s talk about some of them and who can use them.

  • In Therapy:

NLP is not therapy. However, some of its techniques can be used in therapy. NLP can be incorporated into therapy as a way of thinking and correcting thought patterns. Psychologists and psychotherapists in cognitive behavioral therapy can and have great uses for these techniques

  • Hypnosis:

Let’s use sales and businesses as an example. Businesses need to communicate the value of what they are offering to their target audience. To communicate, businesses have to use language to reach their audience.

For effective communication, businesses must understand how their target market thinks to present their services or products in a way that appeals to them. So, the NLP communication technique will help influence the audience.

  • Health and Medicine:

The better doctors and other health care professionals can communicate with patients, the better the health outcomes. With NLP techniques, doctors and other health care professionals can better create rapport with patients, which will lead to better health outcomes

  • Fitness and Wholeness:

If you are a fitness coach or yoga instructor, the better your communication, the better you can clearly identify areas where an individual might be stuck.

This will cause quicker behavioral changes like eating better, sticking to their fitness routine, anything like that.

A life coach’s job is primarily to help people become more motivated to achieve outcomes and objectives they want to accomplish. Using NLP techniques can lead to astounding results in assisting people to overcome some of the challenges they may experience daily.

In Summary

If asked, ‘ Who Uses NLP techniques and In What Situations Can It Be Helpful?’ my response would be everyone and in all situations!

Where you can improve communication, influence, and help people understand each other better is where NLP will shine.
